Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Compliance Society of Kenya (CSK) website, membership portal, and related services. By accessing our website or applying for membership, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the CSK website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.
2. About the Society
The Compliance Society of Kenya (CSK) is a member-based regulatory compliance professional association established to serve professionals in the financial services industry. The Society exists to champion compliance standards and practice, strengthen professional development, and provide resources that help compliance professionals make informed, ethical, and effective decisions.
3. Membership
3.1 Eligibility
Membership is open to compliance professionals in the financial services industry and others working in related areas such as financial crime prevention and anti-money laundering. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria specified for their chosen membership category.
3.2 Application Process
All membership applications must be submitted through the official CSK membership portal. By submitting an application, you:
- Confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete
- Agree to provide supporting documentation as requested
- Understand that CSK reserves the right to verify submitted information
- Accept that membership approval is at the discretion of the Governing Council
3.3 Membership Categories
CSK offers the following membership categories:
- Full Member: For individuals who have attained occupational qualifications for compliance officers offered by the Society through skills development programs
- Associate Member: For individuals holding relevant academic credentials or working as compliance professionals, academicians, or practitioners
3.4 Membership Fees
Membership fees, including joining fees and annual subscriptions, are determined by the Society and must be paid as specified during the application process. Fees are non-refundable except where membership is denied by CSK.
3.5 Membership Renewal
Membership is subject to annual renewal upon payment of the prescribed subscription fee. Members will receive renewal notifications in advance of expiration. Failure to renew may result in suspension or termination of membership privileges.
4. Member Responsibilities
As a CSK member, you agree to:
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Comply with the CSK Code of Conduct
- Maintain accurate and current contact information
- Pay all membership fees and subscriptions when due
- Participate constructively in Society activities and events
- Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information shared within the community
- Refrain from conduct that brings the Society into disrepute
- Support the mission, vision, and values of CSK
5. Member Benefits and Services
Active members in good standing are entitled to:
- Access to mentorship and professional coaching
- Participation in events, webinars, and training programs
- Peer networking and professional support
- Access to compliance resources and materials
- Professional visibility and credibility
- Future certification and development pathways
- Representation within the compliance community
CSK reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service or benefit at any time with reasonable notice to members.
6. Website and Portal Usage
6.1 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify CSK immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
6.2 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose
- Transmit harmful, offensive, or defamatory content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the website
- Harvest or collect user information without consent
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Violate intellectual property rights
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the CSK website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of CSK or its content suppliers and is protected by Kenyan and international copyright laws. The CSK name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of the Compliance Society of Kenya.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without express written permission from CSK.
8. Termination and Suspension
8.1 By CSK
CSK reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership or access to services for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service or the Code of Conduct
- Non-payment of membership fees
- Providing false or misleading information
- Conduct detrimental to the Society's reputation
- Any other breach of membership obligations
8.2 By Member
Members may resign from the Society by providing written notice to the Governing Council. Resignation does not entitle members to refund of paid fees.
9. Limitation of Liability
CSK provides its website and services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CSK disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
CSK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or services, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CSK, its officers, council members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms of Service or your use of CSK services.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of CSK services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
CSK encourages members to resolve disputes amicably through direct communication with the Society before pursuing legal action.
12. Modifications to Terms
CSK reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to members via email or website notification. Continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
